Atascadero CERT prepares residents for earthquakes, wildfires, and seasonal flooding, providing the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves, their families, and their community. Trained CERT volunteers support local fire and emergency services while helping neighborhoods stay resilient and ready.
Atascadero is located in a region prone to earthquakes, wildfires, and seasonal flooding. When disasters strike, residents here rely on local preparedness and community response to protect lives and property. Atascadero CERT trains volunteers to step forward with the skills and confidence needed to support neighbors, strengthen resilience, and bridge the gap until professional responders arrive. The program emphasizes teamwork, readiness, and community safety.
Families, individuals, businesses, neighborhood groups, schools, and organizations within the City of Atascadero.
Atascadero CERT volunteers can:
→ Join neighborhood response teams
→ Assist local emergency preparedness initiatives
→ Participate in public safety events and drills
→ Enroll in specialty training courses to expand skills
Atascadero CERT has become an important part of local preparedness efforts. Volunteers engage in disaster drills, support public safety outreach, and strengthen Atascadero’s ability to withstand emergencies. By investing in training and teamwork, the program ensures that neighborhoods are ready to act effectively when disasters occur.
