TEEN CERT PROGRAM

The Paso Robles TEEN CERT Program introduces high school students to disaster preparedness and emergency response skills. Designed specifically for teens, this program equips young people with the confidence and knowledge to stay safe, help their families, and support their community when disasters strike.

TEEN CERT follows the nationally recognized Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) curriculum, adapted for youth. Teens learn the same skills as adults in Basic Training but in an environment tailored to their age group.

WHY TEEN CERT MATTERS

Disasters can happen anytime—when parents are at work and students are at school, with friends, or at activities. TEEN CERT ensures young people know what to do to protect themselves, assist classmates, and support their neighborhoods until professional responders arrive.

By joining TEEN CERT, teens gain leadership experience, practical skills, and a sense of responsibility that extends beyond emergencies.

WHO CAN PARTICPATE

→ Open to teens 15 years and older

→ No prior experience required

→ Teen participants may also choose to take the standard Basic Training course
